Blog assignment #7

I love soccer soccer is my favorite sport. I was lucky to have a brother who was always worried about teaching me the essential things of this beautiful game. I started learning the most important teams, the best players and their life, etc. When I was six years old, or maybe less, my brother used to show me shirts from the different football teams and i had to guess the correct ones. But there is a big problem in my life; my whole family is fan of Universidad de Chile team, and i am the black sheep because I am fan of the rival, Colo Colo. This is because I had an uncle who lived with me in my childhood and he was a huge fan of Colo Colo, so he showed me everyhing about this team and now I am a fan of the best one. I also like tennis and basketball, but football is my passion, especially Colo Colo. This year I saw one of my dreams come true because my team won the 30th championship and it made me really happy.

Blog assignment #6

Today I'm going to talk about Frederick Taylor and his contributions to the administration. On the second semester of my first year of college, I had a subject called Administration Theory, and one of the most important people was this character. He was also the first theorist that I had to study to understand better how the public administration has changed since its beginnings.

He was an economist and mechanic engineer from the United States, promoter of the scientific organization of the work and considered to be the father of the cientific administration.

His main points were to scientifically determine the standard work, and to create a mental revolution and a functional worker through different concepts intuited early from his 1903 work called Shop Management.

The taylorism was expanded through the US and the world since late XIX century, supported by the industrial businessmen, who saw in this tide the possibility to increase their control over the work process, elevating the productivity and having the chance to hire non qualified workers (unorganized immigrants) in manual tasks that were simpler, more mechanical and more repetitive.

Now I will introduce the principles referred in his work: time studies, movement studies, tools standardization, sales planification department, etc.

Blog assignment #5

First of all, in this occasion i wanted to pick three pictures, because it is difficult to choose one over another, and this three are very representative, but before i start my description it is necessary to watch this photos with this song behind. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCkT4K-hppE

First of all, in this occasion i wanted to pick three pictures, because it is difficult to choose one over another, and this three are very representative, but before i start my description it is necessary to watch this photos with this song behind. The first photo that appears was not taken by me, but i found it searching on the internet, it is a buiding located near my house, in the center of the city, in republica's neighbor. And as you can see is a very old building, it has like 60 years and it is still there. This place has a very special meaning to me, because i lived most of my childhood and adolescence there. And it has a special mystique and a very particular design that is still blowing my mind because i have not seen any of these buildings in other places. Everytime i see this picture with this song, a lot of memories come to my mind.

the second picture, just like the previous one, isn't mine, but at the time i saw it i liked it, and as you can see there are the typical buildings that we see everywhere, but the most important thing from this picture is the contrast of the sky, and that beautiful afternoon, (cause i love the afternoons), especially when the sky seems to be on fire. The colours of the sky in this picture are perfect, and just seeing this photo, makes me think about my dreams, my aspirations. One of my biggest dreams is to travel around the world, because we live in a enormous world and we have a lot of experiences to live, because of the uncertainty of life.

This last picture was taken by me, and it is as important as the other ones, because it was summertime and i decided to travel around southern chile. It was a very beautiful trip, and full of new experiences, because i only knew valparaiso and viña del mar, and everything was new for me. The beauty of the chilean south was something awesome to me, and i couldn't be more impressed. This picture is just before crossing the chacao channel to get to Chiloé, and again the afternoon made this photo, a perfect one, and also the people there with me, my friends and i waiting for new experiences and new adventures. This trip and all the things that i lived in the south are memories that i'll never forget and getting so far from home was something really special too.

Blog assignment #4 - philosophy

My favourite books are the ones who talk about philosophy, although in college they make me read the classic ones, like socrates apology or the basic ones. My favourite stream is the existentialist, which started in the XIX century and lasted until half of the XX century and has its root in the human condition and the meaning of life. I start my adolescense full of doubts and questions about our future and life in general, and that's why i love to read and i love philosophy because maybe the answers to my questions are there, more than in other genres like novels or fantastic tales. The books that i've like the most are Nietzsche's antichrist and the foreigner, written by albert camus, but the most important author for me is Martin Heidegger, although his most important work, "Being and Time" could be too complicated for traditional reading, i totally recommend it if you are looking for answers to questions like "why is something instead of nothing?" or "which means that an entity be?" We have to recognize that in philosophy we find more doubts than certainties, but to know that someone is thinking the same things that we think could be a very grateful experience, especially if it's written in the pages of the books.
